10 l Following (1998): 7.7/10

There never has been any worst movie of Chistopher Nolan. It has either been good else been one of the best pieces of cinema. 'Following' falls shorts due to its technical achievement, considering the low budget it was short in.

The plot of the movie is about how a young boy aspiring to write a novel follows people to get inspiration. He meets a man named Cobb and then finds himself in such circumstances which were rather not intended.

At the end the movie is quite brief and casts light on the immense potential Christopher Nolan had in his early ages.

9 l Insomnia (2002): 8/10

insomnia, movie, christopher nolan, christopher nolan insomnia, al pachino, al pachino movies, al pachino insomnia, murder, mystery

Insomnia might be a great film but the reason it is this low in our list is because it was based on a 1997 film of the same name, and another reason is, relative to other Nolan films it is not that impressive.

Insomnia is a Psychological Thrillers film with a theme of  Insomnia, shocker. It already had a great plot but with the direction of Nolan and stellar performance by Al Pachino and John Williams it overtakes the original film.

Insomnia in all its entirety is almost one of the best Psychological Thrillers films ever made.

8 | Batman begins (2005): 8.4/10

It's quite remarkable how this film is one of the best origin film on the cape crusader and yet it is considered Nolan's Weaker films, this just speaks volumes about who Nolan is.

The plot of the film is rich and characters have depth which most of the modern super hero films lack, with stellar performance by Christian Bale as batman, and Michael Caine as probably the best Alfred, and on top of that it had Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson as a icing on the cake.

Batman begins is not only cool and pretty solid, it also have deeper philosophy and character development which echoes in almost all Nolan films.

7 l The Dark Knight Rises (2012): 8.6/10

Well, we all know this one was better than the first one, without a shadow of a doubt. It also grossed more than a billion dollars, which makes this one of the highest grossing films ever made. Well, that is expected when you pin to Hardy against Christian Bale with other talented star studded cast

The plot of the film is quite simple in upper level but when start going down the batman lore you'll understand what masterpiece this is, a perfect conclusion to a perfect trilogy.

I'll just end here with that epic quote from the film, "Why do we fall sir?", So that we can learn to pick ourselves up"

6 | Prestige (2006): 8.8/10

'Prestige' fulfills all the required elements for an almost perfect film. The movie had an aesthetic cinematography and an outstanding production design depicting the lives of the people in London during the 1800s.

The movie is about how two fellow magicians who were once friends suddenly turn into bitter enemies after encountering a tragedy. They then for the cause of rivalry try to gain fame by their sacrifices but that leads them to encounter terrible circumstances.

Bale Christian, Hugh Jackman and Michael Caine were phenomenal supported by Scarlet Johanson's perfomance and overall the movie stood onto our expectations.

5 l The Dark Knight (2008): 9.2/10

No words are needed to tell people that this is the best superhero film ever made, just amazing. Christopher Nolan reinvented the superhero genre after this, it's like a tragedy which fits perfectly in the story of our cape crusader.

Being completely honest, I'd have to say this was Heath's film, while Nolan made the film humane and interesting, Heath made this film legendary, and he would be remembered in years to come as the best joker.

Well, if you put actors like Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy in a bowl with Christopher Nolan as chef with Hans Zimmer in background, it is inevitable that something legendary would be made.

4 l Memento (2000): 9.3/10

'Memento' was something entirely different that the world of cinema witnessed. Nolan took the concept of non-linear story-line to a next level. Driving the plot in a reverse order was something crazy that the audience saw.

The movie is about how a man named Leonard Shelby who suffers from temporary memory loss tracks down the murderer and rapist of his wife with the help of some notes.

3 l Inception (2010): 9.5/10

'Inception' baffled the audience when they first saw it. The plot was not only mind boggling but it also gave an insight of Nolan's extraordinary thinking.

The story is about is about a person named Cobb who specialises in stealing information from his targets by entering their dreams. On the other hand he is accused for his wife's murder and the only way he finds out of this situation is by performing an impossible task known as Inception.

The movie had some beautiful VFX and set designs that embarked it as Nolan's one of the greatest works.

2 l Interstellar (2013): 9.8/10

Visionary in the form of a film director, Nolan enters the world of Astronomy through his film 'Interstellar.' He shows us the future of planet Earth by a complex yet intriguing plot.

The movie is about how in the future a global crop blight and second Dust Bowl slowly turns the planet inhabitable. On the other hand Professor Brand who is a NASA physicist works on a plan that intends to find another planet suitable for the population of Earth. He sends a former NASA pilot and team to  investigate the three planets.

With an Oscar winning visual effects, Interstellar qualifies as an epic science-fiction film with a mind baffling ending.

1 l Dunkirk (2017): 10/10

There is no words which describes our feelings for this film. It's not only a film but an emotion. Those dog fight shots were just unparalleled. We don't think any film would ever be able to capture a plane fight scene in a war movie as brilliantly as Dunkirk did, and Nolan's visionary direction with Hans Zimmer's Score was able to capture the tension of Dunkirk in a way which only can be experienced, not said.

Well, the plot in this film was just incredible, never seen before in a war movie, it's a story of 3 different stories, in 3 different time coming together in a disastrous yet brilliant way.

This film is not only just the best Nolan film, not just the best war film, it is one of the best films ever made, period.
